Your will be done, Father in Heaven (poems of admonition, By Daisy McLean) Summer 2022

The Spirit of obedience in David to God is the same Spirit of reverence and obedience in Jesus to God. Nothing has changed. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God’s children must have this same Spirit.

My God, my fortress:

Forgive me!

Give me the Holy Spirit of repentance and obedience.

Write your words on my heart.

Seal my lips from saying the things you do not want me to say.

Strap my hand from touching what you do not want me to touch.

Stop my feet from taking me places you do not want me to go.

Order my heart, my soul, and my mind to be still and know that you are the one, almighty and everlasting God.

Cover me and my little family with your loving arms from all attacks of the enemy. Seal us in the Holy and powerful blood of Jesus.

Bless my mother and all her children and grandchildren and descendent to come.

In plead all this on the precious blood and the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!

My God, my fortress:

I am in trouble my God…

Please support me.

I am sad my God…

Please comfort me.

I am confused my God…

Please guide me.

I am glad my God…

Please receive my humble song.

I am surrounded with all sorts of danger my God…

Please protect me.

My God and my fortress:

What should I do?

What should I say?

Where should I go?

How should I walk in your ways?

When must I do or do not?

How do I wait upon your promises?

Why is my heart so troubled?

Show me your ways, plant me on safer grounds and beside the river of life.

Hold my hands and guide me safe to fresh water and green pastures.

All this I place in your hands my God and my fortress, through the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!

Thank you, Father, for the life-story of David. Your word tells me there, of the mighty power I am given when placing all my trust in you. Your word tells me that no Goliath that rises against me shall prevail if you are my strength. Your word tells me that even if 10.000 King Saul may rise against me, they shall not prevail, if I abide under your care and guidance. Your word tells me that once you bless and favour me, no one can take away my blessings because I have chosen to follow and obey you before men. All glory and honour to you for this great wonder in my life, blessed Father. Thank you, Father, for your everlasting love and caring. Thank you Father for Jesus my saviour and redeemer. Who am I so that you looked down on me and saved me? Who am I to deserve so much love? Who am I that you give your only begotten son for me? Thank you, Father! Thank you, Jesus! Blessed be your Holy Names forever and ever. In Jesus and through Jesus' Holy Name, Amen!
