If it is possible, give me - Matthew 26:39 (poems of admonition, By Daisy McLean) Spring 2022
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou fwilt. Matthew 26:39
Father just as Jesus asked, I am placing my case for my little Alfred, who pray often to you for relieve in the distress of his skin disease:
If it is possible, give me his discomfort…
If it is possible, give me his sleepless nights…
If it is possible, give me his pain…
If it is possible, give me his desperation…
If it is possible, give me his skin complexion…
Give me the patience that Job friends denied him,
Give me the love that Job friends denied him,
Give me the compassion that Job friends denied him,
Give me the understanding that Job friends denied him,
Give me the spirit of hope in your divine intervention that Job friends denied him.
Humanly, I can’t bear to see him suffering in the agony of his distress…
So, if it is possible, give me all his skin long and painful suffering.
Thank you Father for your saving grace in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen!
